Reading Group & Supervision on Relational Psychoanalysis

This 10-month supervision group is designed for therapists interested in relational psychoanalysis. Each month, we will explore key concepts through short readings and case discussions based on the month’s theme.

Topics Covered

  • The Analytic Third (beyond self, social structures, coloniality, systemic oppression)

  • Transference & countertransference in a relational framework

  • Multiple selves (integration & “standing in” the spaces)

  • True selves, false selves, and authenticity (Stephen Mitchell)

  • The therapeutic frame

  • The therapist’s relationship with money

  • Aloneness & silence in therapy

  • Symptoms as messages in the client’s psyche

  • Hope & dread in therapeutic work

  • Hate & difficult clients in therapy

As the group progresses, readings and topics will be added based on the group needs.

Who can attend: Therapists working with trauma who want to deepen their understanding of self-states, relational psychodynamics, and the use of transference and countertransference in therapy. This is an advanced training.

Fee: ₹2500 per session

Time: 5:30 – 7:30 PM IST / 7:00 – 9:00 AM EST (subject to change with daylight saving)

Structure / Session Format (2 hours)

  • 45 min: Discussion of the reading

  • 10 min: Break

  • 45 min: Case discussion (Each week will include a 15 minute case presentation from one of the participants for discussion and group supervision (roster will be pre-decided)

Group Size: Limited to 6–8 participants

Duration: 10 months

Meeting frequency: Once a month
